Cyberbullying, defined as the use of technology to harass, intimidate, or humiliate someone, has become an increasingly common phenomenon in the digital age. It can take many forms, such as spreading rumors, sharing private information, or using derogatory language online. It can lead to depression, anxiety, and even suicide. In some cases, it can also lead to physical violence and harm. This is why it is very important to take cyberbullying seriously and to take appropriate legal action if necessary.

There are two major laws protecting citizens from any forms of bullying, be it physical, verbal, or cyberbullying in the Philippines.

Republic Act No. 10627, also known as the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, is a law that seeks to promote a safe and conducive learning environment for students in all levels of education in the Philippines. Its main objective is to prevent and address bullying in schools and other educational institutions, and to ensure the protection and welfare of students, especially the vulnerable ones.

Republic Act (RA) 10175 also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, is a law that aims to regulate access to and use of cyberspace. The law intends to protect consumers from any form of cyberbullying and cybercrimes including libel, defamation, illegal access of data, etc.
